Wireless connection won't work?

my mom's laptop computer won't connect wirelessly. She uses a Ralink Wireless LAN Card But when I checked the WIRELESS UTILITY it says that it's disconnected.



Here are the stuff written on it's settings:



under LINK STATUS



status: disconected.



noise level: normal .



and on the ADVANCED settings:



Wireless mode: 802.11 B/G mix.



Ad hoc wireless mode: 802.11 B only.



B/G Protection: Auto.



Tx Rate: Auto.



There are no check on the following:



TxBurst,



Fast Roaming,



CCX 2.0.



Country Region Code is O:FCC, CH1-11.



RF: On.



Please help me!!!



Kindly type in important selections to be made on the Wireless Connection Properties also.



The computer of my mom used to connect through Local Area Connection could this be one reason it won't connect wirelessly?

Some home devices can cause interference between your computer and networks that might be in range.
