Recently my computer has been going crazy with a lot of stuff. It started sending everybody on my AIM list random messages saying to go to some random website. That was about two weeks ago, and it has stopped by then. I have Avira AntiVirus PersonalEdition Classic, and it has been detecting many different viruses so I put them in it's ''quarantine''. My computer has been running a lot slower lately, and recently I have been getting popups from Internet Explorer (I use Mozilla)_saying that my virus protection isn't strong enough. I'm not sure if these are phishers or not so i just X'd out. Is there something I can do?, or should I just change my virus protection. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have the Smitfraud infection. There are specific Smitfraud removal tools, but I think you're due for a general cleaning.
First, you will need to get some software programs to help you. The following programs are what I use personally. Not only do I trust them, but they are also free for personal use. The companies that provide the free software, also provide software that they sell for use in a commercial environment. Usually, the free versions are just as good but simply don't have as many of the extra features which make the commercial versions even more attractive to use.
