I asked a similar question yesterday, and received one response which was "dont use IE". Here is the question - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=2...
Just to recap - the computer is an older model Compaq, running Win XP home. Something is trying to pull up IE, constantly. Starts out slow, and increases in frequency, with the longer the computer is turned on. Eventually, the computer is bogged down with the virus protection working against the virus, constantly. Is my best choice to actually stop using IE, and if so, how do I remove it? (I'd like to avoid doing a format, but will if necessary).
I'm fairlly comfortable working with computers, but don't claim to be an expert, by any means, hehehe, so feel free to be as detailed as necessary.
Thanks Everyone!
